Summer is over :(

Hey all. I totally suck at being consistent with keeping this blog up to date. We have had a busy few weeks. Zoe turned three on the 8th, she is our little princess. On her birthday we went to lunch and then the childrens' museum. The whole family (even Max and Spencer) plus Papa, Grandma Paula and Grandma Judy. Everyone enjoyed the day. Then on Sunday we had a luau in celebration with friends and family. It was a lot of fun. Jenny, Dan's sister let us borrow a huge blow up water slide. It truly was a hit.

I started back to work officially last Tuesday. It has been very hectic, I am not looking forward to mornings. It is a real task to get everyone ready and out the door by 8:30 (Zoe in particular). I know it is not that early but I struggle. Times like that I wish I had a nanny or was just independently wealthy and didn't have to work. But I have neither option so I will just truck along and remember that things will get easier, as they have.

I haven't downloaded pictures to the computer and I can't find the camera. I will post some picts soon, we have some great snapshots of the party.

Fun weekend

Saturday was my dad's annual birthday party (finally) it was belated this year due to his Alaska trip. I forgot my camera of course, however Amanda is always great about bringing hers and sharing picts. It was so much fun, I really enjoy my family and my parents friends are always entertaining to be around. I can't believe it is so hard for us all to get together, the great great grand kids have a blast together. Zoe is enamored with Aidan, she has been talking about him for two days. I think she will be ready to go back to school. She is old enough now that it will be fun to play and see all of her friends. Luckily we have the opportunity to put the kids in daycare for 3 days a week instead of the 4 day schedule last year. Dan's work schedule changed to a 4 day 10 hour work week, this will help save some money. WHEWSH!

Today I spent the day tracking down Zoe's birthday invitations, it is a long story but I did end up getting them. (lets just say DUH on my part) Anyway, they turned out so cute and it was worth the half hour task taking 4 hours. I would post it but I don't have a copy of it (those darn copyright laws). We are having a Luau, its kind of her theme because last year we were in Hawaii for her birthday. Since I can't afford Hawaii every year this is the next best thing. I am so excited maybe even more than Zoe is, well probably not, but I can't wait. Here are some pictures from Hawaii last year, we had so much fun.

My poet

We just received some awesome news. Last fall Spencer submitted a poem he wrote titled "Shadow" for publication to Highlights magazine. A letter came today to let us know it is going to be published in the September issue. WOW can you believe it. I am soooo!!! proud of my little poet. He has quite a talent for poems (this is not his only piece of work.) Spencer is such an amazing kid, I cannot help but brag about his accomplishment.

Here is the gloomy, mysterious poet look?!
